Proud of who we are. Proud of what we do.

Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) is a not-for-profit, community-led Aboriginal organisation based in Roebourne, Western Australia.

Our name reflects our purpose: “Ngarliyarndu” means People of the Coastal Pilbara, and “Bindirri” means Star — symbolising our vision to rise together and shine a light on opportunity, culture, and community.

Established in 2000, with roots tracing back to the 1970s, NBAC is one of the oldest and largest Aboriginal corporations in the Pilbara. Our mission is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: Maximum well-being and self-determination for all Ngarda-Ngarliyarndu in their lifetime.

We are proud to be a 100% Aboriginal-controlled organisation with a multi-language group Board that represents the strength and diversity of our community.

With over 200 local employees, more than half of whom are Aboriginal, NBAC is deeply embedded in the fabric of Roebourne and its surrounding towns.

Our Values

Honesty

We are transparent, respectful, and truthful in everything we do — building trust with our community, partners, and each other through open and accountable actions.

Empowerment

We support our people to grow, lead, and make decisions that shape their future. Empowerment is about creating opportunity and walking alongside our community with strength.

Equality

We believe everyone deserves access to opportunity, respect, and fair treatment. Our work is grounded in the belief that equity is essential to long-term change.

Pride

We take pride in our culture, our people, and our place. From where we’ve come to where we’re going, pride drives our purpose and keeps our roots strong.

Rooted in Roebourne.
Driven by Purpose.

Our Impact

We are proud to be 98% self-funded through our enterprises, injecting over $80 million in wages directly into the local economy over the past 11 years. Our model shows what’s possible when community drives the solution.

We are one of only three Indigenous corporations in WA’s top 20 that are not funded through land use agreements or government contracts — proof that social enterprise can create strong, sustainable change.

We’re here to listen, support, and connect.

Whether you have a question about our programs, want to get involved, or simply need more information, we’d love to hear from you. Fill out the contact form below or reach out to us directly — a member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Together, we can build stronger communities.
